[About Josh Oakes]

Me at Stovepipe Dunes, Death Valley, CA

Professionally, I’m happy when I’m building things and solving problems. In the past, this has been the Service Department of an Apple Specialist, Web Apps for Higher Education, Programs for Palm and Windows Mobile, saltwater pearls, user interfaces, right-sized business processes, among other things.

I’m an amatuer photographer as seen on my Flickr page and over to your left in Death Valley, a writer of blogs as seen on this site, a Tumblr of Tumbles as seen on my Tumblr site, a designer of card games, and a knower of nearly all things Macintosh.

If you’re read my blog or followed me on The Twitter, you’ve already come to realize I am a highly analytical cynic (more in the original greek sense) out of a generalized desire for the world to be a place where things are not unbearably stupid. If you care–and why would you–I’m an INTJ.

I do most of my work in front of an iPad, iMac or Mac mini moving electrons around, but I actually have a BA in English from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. Do us both a favor and don’t ask about the degree.

Sadly, I am not the Josh Oakes who writes about beer; fortunately, I am also not the Josh Oakes who hosts a television fishing program.
