[About Josh Oakes]

Professionally, I work with Apple computers and the web in many capacities, and my experience has been so broad that appropriately characterizing it here would be both uninteresting and very uninteresting to anyone but, well, me. To give you a sense in just a few words, I’ve done just about everything.

I am ostensibly an amatuer photographer, though I have seen many a photograph more skillfully and artistically executed of my same subjects by photographers with less experience and less expensive equipment. I suffer from a crippling inability to pre-visualize my photos and consequently rely on serendipity and happenstance, as no true artist would. Like many other aspects of my life, my technical skill outpaces my creative skill.

Of late, I have undertaken quite a few writing projects, other than The Twitter and this blog, and one day soon they will be available for your “pleasure” online, if you like reading boring technical things. I do write about how strange living in the south is over on a blog called California Diaspora. That is available for your “pleasure” online even now.

If you’re read my blog or followed me on The Twitter, you’ve already come to realize I am cynical and sarcastic in an extremely healthy and (for me) enjoyable fashion. If you care–and why would you–I’m an INTJ.

Sadly, I am not the Josh Oakes who writes about beer; fortunately, I am also not the Josh Oakes who hosts a television fishing program. Other than that I am simply Josh Oakes.
